Desiree Stark Winkle – 5 stars on Amazon – Reading Tomorrow Comes was not a story for me but an experience. After finishing the book, I felt as though I had known Emma and her family, and I didn’t want to say good-bye to any of them. I guess never saying good-bye is the point, and the way in which the author keeps Emma alive – yet in another world – will stay with me forever. Through other voices, Ms. Mebane makes us understand the deep impact that a young person’s passing has on so many lives. The most heart-wrenching parts of Tomorrow Comes are beautifully and eloquently written. Humor is also used effectively. I was as transfixed by the family tattoo session as I was with Emma’s Father’s tragic discovery. The chapters flow smoothly from one to the next with a perfect balance of sadness and laughter. Ms. Mebane has a tremendous command of language, which makes her book a pleasure to read. After reading Tomorrow Comes, I still have no idea what lies ahead, but I have no doubt that there is a tomorrow.
